Can anyone recommend a sat nav please ...? Or is there an easy way to adapt a tom tom car sat nav (ie power lead & water proof case?). Seen a couple of budget sat navs on ebay and was wondering if they are any good??? Tom tom rider looks good but £££££££

Paul has a car set up on his mate.
He's off on holiday now so you'll have to wait for his experience with it.

I've had a couple of tomtom riders and like the ease of use.

I've got a Tom Tom Rider Urban for sale with European maps installed. Model number is 4GC01. Comes with Ram mount and original box. £140 posted.

You could rig up a 12v socket into the left hand leg shield cover for power?
That price isn't bad with the Ram mount too.

Does it have the bluetooth headset?

Alright mate. Yes it fits onto the mirror stem as that's where I put it. Battery life is about 3 hours but it's better if you rig up a 12v feed as pepy says. Tom Tom cunningly don't supply a powered mount with the unit but I "adapted" the normal mount so you can get the USB lead into the bottom of it.

They are very good units but I need the cash for "other projects" :)
