hi,
My mate's 300 will run fine but as it warms up it starts playing up,cutting out at lights etc.
Could this be the fuel pump problem so widely reported?
It's an 08 plate and only done 5000 miles ,he had it in for a service last week and they said they couldn't find a problem!!
Doesn't their diagnostic plug in thingy highlight ant problems?

Cheers
Lee.

Certainly sounds like it could be the fuel pump problem.....

Could well be a fuel pump issue, its dead easy for a dealer to check with a fuel pressure gauge as the pump issue means the pressure drops massively... it should be 3bar minimum when running.

Thanks for the replies.

He rang them and they seem uninterested , they had it in for service and couldn't find any problems , don't think they even looked!

He's since found his battery was flat , charged it and now reckons his bike is running fine.Is this just coincidence? I thought the fuel pump was mechanical?

Cheers
Lee

If the battery goes flat while being ridden they will run badly as they need 12v supply to run the fuel injection and ECU... but the fact you never mentioned starting issues, then i assume the battery was good enough then and its more likely just gone flat afterwards.

The fuel pump is a submersed electrical type inside the fuel tank.

If it remains to be a problem, then he needs to either ask them specifically to do a fuel pressure test, or find another dealer to do it whos a little more helpful..
