Hi all ,

Stirling Gorehounds S. C. are proud to release details of our forthcoming Highland Scoot event in May 2010. This is only the 2nd time this event has been run - the 1st was in 1959.

The route will be a replica of the original route taken in 1959 on the previous and 1st Highland Scoot event.
It is a Scottish No1`s supported event and is also supported by The Vespa Club of Britain.

It will set off from the car park of The Wallace Monument in Stirling - http://www.nationalwallacemonument.com

The event will be flagged off by an original competitor from The Glasgow Vespa Club of 1959

Entrants will be played off by a piper , and led through the town centre by a police motorcycle outrider before making their way North West towards Loch Lomond & Argyll area.

After the event there will be an evening Do at Cambusbarron Miners Welfare Club in Stirling
...details to be finalised......

Please find below links showing registration etc , the stills shown in some of the fotos are of the actual route to be taken......the animals shown are there to enhance the Scottishness of the event & weren`t harmed in the making of the trailer

A map will soon be added to the links to show the route , which is roughly 180 miles in total.

D'OH!!

Shame, I was hoping it might be the weekend before Kelso, would have made an excellent mini-holiday north of the border.

Been thinking about this and I quite fancy it, anyone else up for it?

It would mean riding up on the Friday staying over, doing the ride on the Saturday, then the do, then ride back Sunday...

Hi all ,
Just following up with a wee bit more info - re evening Do event at Highland Scoot 2010 , we are currently sounding out different possibilities for the evenings entertainment.
Listed below is the shortlist , once finalised i`ll post more info to let interested parties get clued up.

Unfortunately there is no camping at the night Do , the nearest ( i think) would be at
The Witches Craig , Caravan & Camping Park, Logie by Blairlogie , Stirling.

http://www.witchescraig.co.uk/

This is about 1 mile max. away from where the main Highland Scoot event / run will leave from and about 4 miles away from the evening Do will be held.
Not an ideal distance really ,but sorry it`s not a perfect world folks.

So here`s the proposed nite time choices :

1. DJ, with a scottish ceilidh band + a buffet.

2. DJ, A band + a buffet.

3. DJ+ Buffet.

4. Just DJ.

Again , once confirmed ( SOON ) i`ll repost to keep you informed.

PS happy new year
